I couldn’t miss the opportunity to photograph Lucy following her wish to wrap her doll. Her protective hold was instinctive and completely natural. Imagine suggesting to her in her role-playing world, “now when dolly cries, you must leave her to cry alone…” So why does society say that to mothers?
